POE material is a kind of thermoplastic elastomer which can realize in situ polymerization of ethyleneand α-olefins with metallocene catalyst. It has the dual characteristics of plastic and rubber, and its comprehensive performance is excellent, so it can be regarded as a bridge product between plastic and rubber. POE in the narrow sense refers to ethylene - octene copolymer [Poly (ethylene-1-octene) or Ethylene-1-octenecopolymer, also known as EOC].
There are no unsaturated double bonds in the molecular structure of POE materials, which has a narrow molecular weight distribution and short branched chain structure. These characteristics give POE excellent physical and mechanical properties such as high elasticity, high strength, high elongation and excellent low temperature resistance. In addition, the narrow fraction distribution of POE makes it less prone to deflection during injection and extrusion processing, resulting in excellent processability. Due to the saturated structure of POE macromolecular chain, there are relatively few tertiary carbon atoms in the sub-structure, so POE has excellent thermal aging and ultraviolet resistance. The introduction of long chain branches into the linear short chain branching structure of the polymer can effectively improve the transparency of the material and the rheological properties of the polymer.
