Recently, the Organizing Committee of China Leather Fair and Wenzhou Synthetic Leather Chamber of Commerce visited Vietnam shoe & leather manufacturers and synthetic leather distributors in Hanoi (Capital of Vietnam) with the invitation from Vietnam Ministry of Trade.
On April 6th, Chairman Zheng Guochuan of Wenzhou Synthetic Leather Chamber of Commerce and Vice Chairman Ruan Shisong of Vietnam Leather Association signed the agreement on trading cooperation and information exchange at “2007 Sino-Vietnam Seminar on Shoe & Leather Industry”. The two parties have made the plan to carry out several communication activities such as business investigation, group exhibiting, trading symposium and economic cooperation according to the different situations. Vietnam Leather Association has confirmed their schedule to visiting the fair.

The current situation of Vietnam’s Shoe & Leather Industry
In 2006, the export value of Vietnam’s shoe & leather reached 3.59 billion USD. But Vietnam is short of the raw materials of shoe, which can not meet its current demand. While in China, the synthetic leather industry develops quite fast. More and more Vietnam footwear manufacturers import synthetic leather from China. During the period of January-October in 2006, Vietnam imported leather valued 13.55 million USD from China.
