Argentina leather shoe targets the Chinese high-end market
A report issued on business news in Argentina on February 10, 2011 said some Argentina’s shoemakers have decided to update the quality and designing of their shoe products and to explore the high price markets in China and Asian countries as more and more increasing in competition from Chinese cheaper products.
These Argentina’s shoemakers target the high priced market in China, they thought their leather shoes have a strong advantage in price compared with those made in Italy, France and Britten while the quality almost as the same. The Footwear Federation in Argentina plans to head a group of shoemaker’s entrepreneurs and to meet their Chinese counterparts for promotion of high-end leather shoe in China.
Argentina produces 105 million pairs of various shoes each year and imports 20 million pairs, 15 million pairs came from Brazil. The imports from China dropped 68% last year since anti-dumping duty imposed on Chinese shoes.
