Foreign-oriented Footwear Market to be built in Sichuan

As heavily depending on Russia market the shoe exports from Sichuan province showed a consecutive decline in recent months, for attraction of more overseas buyers a project with investment of 300 million yuan will be launched this month, which will function as a foreign trade platform to promote footwear export.

There should be one woman wearing the shoe made in Chengdu city in three of Russian women, frankly speaking the huge demand in Russian market indeed helps Chengdu shoemakers growing up. Due to recent challenges in Russian market, they turned business to the markets in EU and America, where the shoe sales have exceeded the market in Russia.

The foreign trade shoe market is said to be completed by 2012 and expected to ease the decline on shoe exports and reduce the degree of dependence on Russia market.

According to Chengdu Customs latest data, shoe exports in Sichuan province recorded four months successive decline, November dropped 30.9% that set lowest record for this year’s export. But luckily export shares in EU and America grew to 40% from 10% of total exports.

The transformation of footwear industry to western regions also brings more buyers and orders for shoemakers in Sichuan, the Foreign Trade Footwear Market will provide a showroom for overseas buyers and easy way to seek their business partners.
