Leather goods saw an increase in exports but shrinking in profits

    The luggage and bags saw an increase of 43.6% year on year to US$1.7 billion for the first 11 months in Fujian province, according to data relased from local customs department. The United States and EU nations were the main exported markets, accounting for 34.1% and 27.9% respectively of Fujian leather goods total exports.
 

    Exporter and manufacturers said our profits shrank although increase in exports, the reasons they blamed are prices hiking in raw materials and labor costs, further more technical trade barriers increased the testing costs for product export, but products saled in international market remain at lowest prices.
