World Shoe Fair Organzation
The World Shoe Fair Organization (WSFO), which came into being in 2006, unites some of the most important Footwear Shows: Micam, WSA, GDS, Midec, Couromoda, and Modacalzado.
We asked the current president Francois Browne De Kilmaine, which strategic objectives the association proposes: “2006 was the year the initiative was launched and 2007 will be the year of its definitive realization. We have already had several meetings, the last of which was at San Paolo’s Couromoda, and we will be holding others, starting with one planned during Micam. Various international projects are being defined regarding collective communication, press campaigns, strategies common to the world of exhibitions as well as to the visitors to all our shows. WSFO is important as it allows the trade fair leaders from various nations to meet, work together and present themselves together at the individual shows, with joint stands to demonstrate the cohesion possible within these halls. It is absolutely essential to talk to each other, whilst respecting each others characteristics and bearing in mind the competitiveness which certainly exists amongst us. But speaking together, looking at problems we have in common and trying to improve our approach to exhibitors and visitors is all very interesting. For this reason we are trying to open the association’s doors to other shows. It is unthinkable not to allow key Russian or Japanese exhibitions access to the WSFO. And exhibition of unequivocal level such as Expo Riva Schuh absolutely must become part of the World Shoe Fair Organization. Our credibility also comes from adhering to all the world’s principal trade exhibitions”.
