CLIA Partners China Consumers Association on Leather Education
China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) recently attended a meeting with China Consumers Association (CCA) during which the two bodies agreed to strengthen their cooperation through mutual ongoing support, local media have reported.
In particular, consumer education around leathergoods was flagged as an area to address together, with CLIA suggesting the creation of a dedicated educational platform.
It also recommended that CCA offer science-based guidance on the subject of leather purchasing as a way to aid CLIA’s industry stewardship amid changing consumer behaviour.
A director of consumer guidance at CCA, Ren Jing, reportedly emphasised the centrality of leather footwear, clothing, luggage and other leathergoods to daily life in China.
