Nike Revenue up and income down for Nike in full year results
For the year ending May 31, 2023, the company reported revenue for the Nike brand of US$48.8 million, up 10% on a reported basis and 16% on a currency neutral basis.
Nike Direct revenue totalled US$21.3 million, up 14% reported and 8% currency-neutral, while Converse revenue was US$2.4 billion, up by 3% and 8% respectively.
The gross margin for the year was down by 250 basis points to 43.5%, while net income fell by 16% year-on-year to US$5.1 billion.
For the fourth quarter alone, revenue was up by 5% to US$12.8 billion, with a currency-neutral increase of 8%.
Revenue for the Nike brand was US$12.2 billion, up by 5% on a reported basis and 8% on a currency-neutral basis.
Nike Direct saw revenue increase by 15% year-on-year and 18% on a currency-neutral basis, for a total of US$5.5 billion. Meanwhile, Converse revenue totalled US$586 million, down by 1% and up by 1% respectively.
Gross margin for the quarter fell by 140 basis points to 43.6 % while net income was down by 28% to US$1 billion.
